PRASEG Meeting: Energy Efficiency, A Parliamentary Agenda?

PRASEG meeting on Energy Efficiency

PRASEG convened a roundtable to explore the future of energy efficiency and retrofit in the UK, identifying priorities for parliamentary engagement, policy development and future events.

Discussions focused on the challenges facing the energy efficiency sector, including uncertainty around government funding, the need to rebuild political confidence in retrofit, and barriers to effective delivery. Participants considered lessons from Scotland’s Warmworks programme and the importance of a more consistent, long-term approach to funding and delivery across England.

The roundtable also explored how energy efficiency could be better positioned alongside electrification, with affordability, energy security, warmer and healthier homes identified as key messages for building wider support. PRASEG will use the discussion to help shape its future programme of parliamentary activity, events and policy work.
